About – Susan Reynolds

Susan graduated from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch) with a Masters honours degree in Astronomy in 1986. She began work within the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at Christchurch Hospital in 1997, firstly as a technician, and then as a medical physicist in 1998. After leaving Christchurch Hospital in 2009, she established her own company, Gamma Health Physics Limited, as a private Medical Physicist Consultant.

Her achievements to date are as follows:

•   Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Accreditation in Radiological Physics in 2006

•   Full membership of the ACPSEM in 2004

•   ACPSEM Certification in Mammography Equipment Testing in 2007

•   ACPSEM Certification in Digital Mammography Equipment Testing (DR&CR) in 2011

•   International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) Certificate of Recognition as a Technical Expert in 2004

•   Office of Radiation Safety (ORS) Licence to use Ionising Radiation (Radiology)

•   ACPSEM Registration as a Qualified Medical Physics Specialist in Radiological Medical Physics in 2013

About – Jesse Reynolds

Jesse graduated from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) honours degree in 2011. Jesse began working in bio-engineering within the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at Christchurch Hospital in 2018. In 2020 he left to commence full-time study in Medical Physics at the University of Canterbury. He started full-time as a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist registrar in May 2022. He became qualified as a Certified Medical Physics Specialist and member of the ACPSEM in July 2025.

His achievements to date are as follows:

•   Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Certification in Radiological Physics in 2025

•   ACPSEM Certification in Mammography Equipment Testing in 2022

•   Full membership of the ACPSEM in 2025
