Susan graduated from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch) with a Masters honours degree in Astronomy in 1986. She began work within the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at Christchurch Hospital in 1997, firstly as a technician, and then as a medical physicist in 1998. After leaving Christchurch Hospital in 2009, she established her own company, Gamma Health Physics Limited, as a private Medical Physicist Consultant.

Jesse graduated from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) honours degree in 2011. Jesse began working in bio-engineering within the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at Christchurch Hospital in 2018. In 2020 he left to commence full-time study in Medical Physics at the University of Canterbury. He has recently completed the Masters thesis. He started full-time as a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist registrar in May 2022.
